prepared for the
worst case scenario
Around 30 firefighters rehearsed an emergency on the premises of Ströher GmbH in Dillenburg on June 7, 2022. In addition to extinguishing the fire, the exercise also focused on rescuing several fictitious accident victims.

"If you want to be prepared for an emergency, you have to know the local conditions in order to be able to react and help as quickly as possible," says Managing Director Dirk Hümmer, explaining the measure. This is why the Dillenburg Volunteer Fire Department rehearsed an emergency in the tunnel kiln plant of the Dillenburg ceramics manufacturer Ströher. After successfully rescuing several fictitious people who had had an accident while wearing breathing apparatus, the approximately 30 firefighters practiced extinguishing a fire in the tunnel kiln production plant for clinker brick slips. This production area is currently being renovated. In the coming months, a new sorting system will be built here that will automatically sort and package clinker brick slips. Plant manager Michael Schwarz on the exercise: "In an emergency, we can rely on the local professionals who will do everything they can to help our employees and keep damage to a minimum. Many thanks again to everyone involved, especially the Dillenburg Volunteer Fire Department, for their efforts.
