We combine our traditional manufacturing expertise with state-of-the-art clinker ceramic engineering and cutting-edge surface coating technologies. Using a wide variety of compositions of more than 50 quality clays, we create fired ceramic products in a wide range of shapes and formats. We cut them from a moist, malleable clay strand and sinter them at high firing temperatures to achieve their characteristic properties. We rely on natural raw materials and reactions, which we use with great flair and experience in a targeted approach to develop unique surfaces and fascinatingly natural colour spectra.
In Focus: Technology, Processes, Energy and Efficiency
As an energy-intensive manufacturing company, we continuously work to optimize the use of energy and raw materials in our production processes and to reduce emissions.
Our tiles and brick slips are manufactured in modern production facilities. Measures aimed at improving energy consumption, modern exhaust gas treatment systems, and the use of mineral raw materials sourced close to our production facilities are integral parts of our production and energy management.
Production residues such as firing and drying breakage, glaze residues and process water are processed and returned to the production cycle as secondary raw materials.
Waste heat generated during the firing process is used to dry the ceramic products in an earlier stage of the manufacturing process. This allows existing process heat to be used more than once.
For our electricity supply, we use electricity from renewable energy sources. Part of our electricity demand is covered by our own photovoltaic systems.
Our energy management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. Our objective is to continuously develop our production processes and to manage energy and raw materials responsibly.

Patrick Schneider
General Manager Sales, Marketing & Product ManagementPatrick Schneider, born in 1968, has been Managing Director of the various companies Ströher and Gepadi since 2009 and is responsible for all sales, domestic and export, as well as marketing and product management within the Ströher Group across all brands. The state-certified business economist and trained industrial clerk has more than 30 years of expertise in the tile and building materials industry. Previously, the passionate sales professional held responsible positions as Managing Director at Deutsche Steinzeug and Jasba. Since October 2023, Patrick Schneider has been Chairman of the German Ceramic Tile Association with a high degree of personal integrity and passion.
Dirk Hümmer
Technical & commercial General ManagerDirk Hümmer, born in 1964, has been managing the production branch of the Ströher Group as Technical and Commercial Director since 1 January 2020. Dirk Hümmer has many years of experience in the international ceramics industry. After studying engineering, specialising in ceramics, he began his professional career as a plant manager at Röben Tonbaustoffe GmbH. After several years as plant manager and technical manager at various companies in the German and Swiss brick industry, he moved to Wienerberger AG in 2012. Here he was employed as Head of Production and Operations as well as a member of the management in various subsidiaries of the Group. Most recently, Dirk Hümmer was Managing Director of Pipelife GmbH, a subsidiary of Wienerberger AG.
