‘From daycare centres to assisted living - we attach great importance to a healthy mix of different types of housing,’ explains Göbelbecker Citypark project developer Paul Heinze. Building plot 19 was to become the upmarket residential variant. And this was to be recognisable from afar. Instead of blocks of flats, cubes of villas were designed - a high-quality statement was made on the façade with brick slips and glass balustrades. Ceramic was used on the balconies and terraces instead of concrete. Sales representative Frank Usner also accompanied the ‘Parkvillen’ ‘after sale’ during the construction phase on site: ‘In order to optimise the 40 x 40 cm joint pattern at the end of the façades and to create a generous design, TerioTec 40 x 60 cm was cut to the appropriate size of 40 x 50 cm with very little waste.’ Usner also had to persuade the unbelieving installers on site until they dared to hammer TerioTec - especially in the 2 cm thickness - into the gravel bed with a rubber mallet just as neatly as the standard concrete slabs normally used by property developers. Ströher ceramics are not only visually attractive, but also of high quality - not only in appearance but also in function. The property developer had already noted this enthusiastically with the easy-to-lay clinker brick slips, which can be laid using a slurry, and saved a lot of money on laying them.
