In the transitional seasons, outdoor ceramics must be able to withstand temperature fluctuations of up to 70 °C due to rapid freeze-thaw cycles, depending on the regional location. Our ceramics can withstand this - and therefore fulfil the DIN EN ISO 10545-12 test standard, even outside the required laboratory conditions.

WEATHER-RESISTANT PORE STRUCTURE
Functional ceramics with membrane effect
Thanks to the extrusion manufacturing process, Ströher ceramic has a ‘weatherproof’ pore structure with breathable capillary channels and a homogeneous particle structure that drains water. This means that even the smallest amount of condensation can escape naturally and does not have to burst its way through the tile. We call it the membrane effect.

For our ceramics, we rely on specially developed and resistant hard glazes based on highly refined mineral raw materials. This not only ensures greater slip resistance in wet conditions, but also consistent ease of use and maintenance.

The highly structured rear side of the coarse ceramic extruded from moist clay enables optimum interlocking properties with the substrate and therefore optimum adhesive tensile strength. In contrast to the ‘vitrified’ surface of dry-pressed body tiles, coarse ceramic tiles do not come loose when laid correctly, even under thermal stress.
