The labour market is changing rapidly: the career profiles of many people these days include unpaid internships, frequent job changes, and employment as contract workers, temporary employees or multi-jobbers. While their grandparents and parents mostly spent their entire working lives in a single company before taking well-deserved retirement, the circumstances are much more uncertain for today's new entrants into the labour market. Belonging to a single company for several decades is no longer a given. But it does still occur sometimes: the Dillenburger-based ceramics manufacturer Ströher recently held a ceremony to thank some deserving employees for up to 40 years of loyalty to the company.
